Trauma dan Penentangan dalam Karya Pengarang Wanita Korea: Satu Bacaan Teori Judith Herman

Abstract

Kajian ini meneliti dimensi psikologi wanita dalam proses penerimaan dan penentangan terhadap sistem patriarki melalui analisis dua novel Korea moden, The Vegetarian karya Han (2016) dan Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982 karya Cho (2020). Kedua-dua pengarang menyorot pengalaman protagonis wanita yang berhadapan dengan kesunyian, kesenyapan dan krisis identiti akibat penindasan gender yang berpanjangan. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah analisis teks secara kualitatif dengan berpandukan kerangka teori Trauma and Recovery oleh Herman (1992). Fokus analisis diberikan kepada penggambaran trauma psikologi, pemecahan identiti dan mekanisme mempertahankan diri watak-watak wanita dalam kedua-dua buah karya. Analisis menunjukkan bahawa tindakan mendiamkan diri dan menerima diskriminasi dari segi fizikal dan mental yang dipaparkan oleh watak Yeong-hye dan Jiyoung bukanlah tanda kelemahan, sebaliknya, tingkah laku tersebut berfungsi sebagai strategi kelangsungan hidup dan bentuk protes halus terhadap dominasi patriarki. Kajian ini menyumbang kepada bidang kritikan sastera feminis dengan menegaskan bahawa trauma, kesunyian dan keruntuhan psikologi boleh dibaca sebagai tindak balas bermakna terhadap penindasan dan diskriminasi gender dalam sistem patriarkal. Dapatan ini juga membuka ruang perbincangan tentang corak sama dalam konteks berbeza terhadap fiksyen pengarang wanita Asia, sekali gus memperluas pemahaman tentang bentuk penentangan yang kelihatan pasif tetapi berakar dalam strategi simbolik kaum wanita.
