Abstract

This article develops a theory-led documentary and textual case analysis of corporate authorship in Enlight Media’s animation portfolio. Drawing on published scholarship, public corporate documents, media accounts, and selected films, it examines creative control, stylistic continuity, creative intent, and brand image. The analysis interprets relationships between investment networks, producer coordination, IP strategy, and recurring cultural and aesthetic features. It distinguishes the company’s stated Chinese Mythology Universe ambition from the wider portfolio and considers differences among films as well as shared traits. The argument suggests that corporate authorship offers a useful perspective on industrialized animation while preserving the significance of directors’ and studios’ creative agency. The article reports no researcher-conducted interviews or systematically coded empirical dataset; its conclusions are interpretive propositions based on public materials. It contributes a contextual application of corporate authorship to Chinese animation and identifies tensions between coordinated brand development and artistic variation.
